He left a message saying 'I don't want to kill you' – days later she was in a pool of blood

A young woman, Alice Ruggles, was murdered by her ex-boyfriend, despite receiving a chilling message from him claiming he did not want to harm her.

Alice Ruggles, a 24-year-old woman, was found dead in her home after an alarming series of events involving her ex-boyfriend, Trimaan 'Harry' Dhillon. Just days before her death, Dhillon had traveled five hours to give Ruggles flowers and chocolates, leaving behind a message that feigned his intentions: 'I just wanted to give you flowers and chocolates to prove that I don't want to kill you.' This disturbing prelude suggested a complex and dangerous obsession on Dhillon's part.

The case became more tragic as it was revealed that Dhillon, a British Army Lance Corporal with aspirations to join the SAS, had used his military training to gain access to Ruggles' home. He climbed through a window and, in a brutal act of violence, took her life by cutting her throat multiple times with a carving knife. The swift turn from a relationship marked by obsession into fatal violence shocked many and highlighted the potential dangers of domestic abuse and relationship stalking.

In light of the incident, a new documentary sheds light on the events leading up to Ruggles’ death, including how social media played a role in her interactions during a seemingly innocent trip to Sri Lanka with a friend. The documentary aims to raise awareness about the signs of stalking and the need for better support and protective measures for individuals facing threats from former partners.
