This Year, 9 Private Employment Equality Counseling Centers to Operate, Which Were Discontinued During the Yoon Administration
The private employment equality counseling centers, which were completely cut under the Yoon administration, will resume operations this year but with a significantly reduced number of centers.
The Ministry of Employment and Labor in South Korea has announced the re-establishment of private employment equality counseling centers, which had been eliminated entirely due to budget cuts during the Yoon administration. While originally there were 19 centers in operation in 2023, this number has been drastically reduced to just 9. These counseling centers are aimed at providing support for workplace sexual harassment and discrimination issues and are intended to improve access to counseling, especially for victims who may shy away from formal channels due to fear of exposure.
