New roller coaster at Beto Carrero will have 1.4 km and unprecedented effects in Brazil

Beto Carrero World plans to invest R$ 450 million in a new roller coaster featuring innovative technologies and effects, slated for opening in 2028.

Beto Carrero World, a major amusement park in Brazil, is set to allocate a significant portion of its recent R$ 2 billion investment towards a new roller coaster that promises to introduce groundbreaking effects and technology in the country. This roller coaster, which will be part of a new area themed around 'SpongeBob SquarePants', is described by the park's CEO Alex Murad as a 'family-friendly yet exciting' attraction. The anticipated cost for this ride alone is estimated at R$ 450 million.

The new roller coaster will span 1.4 kilometers and will host several unique features, including multiple launches both forwards and backwards, rapid track changes, and eighteen moments of zero gravity. Designed by Intamin, a company known for creating attractions for theme parks like Universal in Orlando, the ride will also include an indoor section that immerses guests into a scene from the animated series. Moreover, the design involves intertwining this roller coaster with another attraction within the same themed area, promising an even more engaging experience for visitors.

Scheduled to open in 2028, this roller coaster aims to set new standards for thrill rides in Brazil. The introduction of such a high-profile attraction also speaks to a broader trend in the amusement park industry towards incorporating advanced technologies and creating unique, immersive experiences for guests. By investing in innovative attractions, Beto Carrero World is likely to enhance its competitive edge in the entertainment sector in Brazil, ultimately aiming to attract more visitors and boost the local tourism economy.
