At the age of 29, Daniel faced severe dilation of the left ventricle and enlargement of the aorta, necessitating medical intervention. He humorously mentioned that while some individuals with BAV may undergo surgery later in life, he took the path that led him to surgery earlier than most, suggesting that he 'drew the early-bird straw' in this context.
