Procon, the Consumer Protection and Defense Program in Brazil, has released a survey outlining the price differences for flowers and beauty services ahead of International Women's Day celebrated on March 8. The findings indicate a staggering price variation, with some items showing differences of up to 214%. For example, a simple bouquet of six national roses was priced at R$ 70 in one floristry and at R$ 220 in another, highlighting the importance for consumers to shop around before making purchases.

This survey included contributions from five different flower shops in Campo Grande, conducted in February. Other notable price variations included orchids, which ranged from R$ 59.90 to R$ 280 based on species and stem count, and breakfast services with an average price of R$ 221.67. These findings serve as a warning to consumers about the need to compare prices, especially during peak gift-giving periods like International Women's Day when demand is typically high.
