The USA's arsenal in the war: "Massive effort"

The U.S. has amassed its largest military force and some of its most powerful weapons in the Middle East ahead of weekend attacks on Iran as part of Operation "Epic Fury."

Amid preparations for impending attacks on Iran, the United States has mobilized its largest military strength in the Middle East in decades, showcasing powerful weaponry. This buildup, referred to by the Pentagon as Operation "Epic Fury," highlights a strategic shift in how the U.S. engages in military actions. Unlike previous conflicts where cruise missile strikes initiated campaigns, U.S. forces are now opting for direct aerial attacks, believing they can swiftly neutralize Iranian air defenses.

According to the Central Command, Centcom, a comprehensive list has been released detailing the arsenal deployed in the war against Iran. Research leader Andreas Hörnedal from the Swedish Defence Research Agency noted that this shift in tactics indicates a growing confidence in the U.S. military's capabilities to achieve objectives rapidly, suggesting that the air defenses of Iran could be significantly compromised in short order. This change may also reflect an evolving military doctrine that prioritizes speed and efficiency in strike operations.

The U.S. Air Force’s B-2 stealth bombers, which can carry both conventional and nuclear payloads, are central to this military push. With a cost exceeding one billion dollars each, the B-2 bombers represent one of the most potent platforms in the U.S. arsenal, with their capabilities being critical for penetrating advanced defense systems. The deployment of such high-value assets prompts discussions about the implications for regional security and potential escalations in the already tense environment surrounding U.S.-Iran relations.
