Iran and Hezbollah simultaneously launched rockets and missiles at Israel; IDF spokesman: No intelligence that they coordinated the timing

An IDF spokesman announced that there is no intelligence indicating that Iran and Hezbollah coordinated their simultaneous missile launch towards Israel, which triggered alarms across the country.

An IDF spokesman, Brigadier General Eli Defrin, stated that the military lacks intelligence confirming any coordination between Iran and Hezbollah regarding their simultaneous missile strikes on Israel. This series of attacks led to alarm systems being activated throughout the country, including northern, central, and Jerusalem areas. Despite the lack of communication between the two parties, Defrin asserted that Hezbollah operates in the service of Iran's Revolutionary Guards and emphasized the IDF's commitment to retaliate against Hezbollah.

The missile strikes included cluster munitions, which according to police reports, were launched from Lebanon for the first time since the onset of recent hostilities. The cluster missile caused damage to several homes and vehicles in Metula, demonstrating its destructive capability. With an average warhead weight of about seven kilograms, the cluster bombs create damage comparable to short-range rockets from Hamas and Hezbollah. The widespread dispersion of its munitions across a radius of several kilometers has resulted in alarm alerts being triggered in multiple regions, underscoring the escalating threat.

Earlier, Hezbollah Secretary-General Nasrallah Kassem responded to Israeli attacks in Lebanon, stating that they were not a reaction to the rockets and missiles launched by the group but rather a premeditated aggression. In his speech, he described the rocket fire towards Israel as a response to what he characterized as "Israeli-American aggression," indicating a growing tension and a cycle of retaliation that could spiral further if not addressed. The situation remains tense as both sides prepare for potential further escalations in their conflict.
