Historian Ladislav Kudrna remains director of the Institute for the Study of Totalitarian Regimes for another term
Historian Ladislav Kudrna has been re-elected as the director of the Institute for the Study of Totalitarian Regimes (ÚSTR) in Czechia for another five-year term starting May 1.
Historian Ladislav Kudrna has secured re-election as the director of the Institute for the Study of Totalitarian Regimes (ÚSTR), with the decision made by the council during a secret ballot. Kudrna received support from six out of seven council members, with one member abstaining from the vote. His new term will begin on May 1 and lasts for five years. Kudrna, who has been with ÚSTR since 2008 and became its director in 2022, succeeded Zdeněk Hazdra. His expertise lies in the themes of the second and third resistance movements and the underground movements in totalitarian Czechoslovakia.
