With the help of a sniffer dog, police find 318 drug portions hidden in a thicket and arrest 2 suspects in Santa Bárbara d'Oeste

Brazilian police, aided by a sniffer dog, discovered 318 drug portions and arrested two suspects in Santa Bárbara d'Oeste.

In a successful operation on Wednesday morning, the DISE of Americana, with assistance from a trained sniffer dog, uncovered 318 drug portions, including cocaine, crack, and marijuana, hidden in a thicket and within a brick in the neighborhood of Conquista, Santa Bárbara d'Oeste, São Paulo. The operation led to the immediate arrest of two suspects identified as 'Lele' and 'Tony,' who were implicated in the local drug trade after previous investigations prompted by police tips regarding drug sales from a wooden shack on Plácido Ribeiro Ferreira street.

Following the identification of the suspects, police apprehended them shortly after they allegedly replenished their drug selling point. Alongside the seizure of the drugs, authorities recovered three mobile phones and 40 Brazilian Reais in cash. The arrests were a part of ongoing efforts by the police to combat drug trafficking in the region, particularly as local concerns about drug-related activities have increased.

Upon their arrest, the suspects were taken to the police station and subsequently transferred to the Public Jail of Sumaré where they will await a custody hearing. This incident underscores the ongoing challenges faced by law enforcement in addressing the drug issue in Brazil, particularly in urban areas where drug trafficking has become a significant concern for public safety and community health.
