Marquito remains hospitalized in critical condition after spinal surgery, says hospital
Brazilian comedian Marquito is in critical condition following spinal surgery after an accident.
Marco Antonio Ricciardelli, popularly known as Marquito, is currently hospitalized in critical condition at the Nipo-Brasileiro Hospital located in the northern zone of São Paulo. His medical team has reported that he remains under continuous observation in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and while his clinical condition is reportedly stable, he does not show significant changes from previous assessments. Marquito has been receiving comprehensive care from a multidisciplinary team as he recuperates.
The comedian suffered a serious incident while riding his motorcycle on August 25, which led to him losing control of the vehicle. The impact of the accident resulted in a spinal injury that necessitated him being placed in a medically induced coma. Following the initial emergency treatment, he underwent a complex four-hour surgery on August 27, which was aimed at addressing the severity of his spinal injuries.
As of September 1, updates from the hospital indicate that Marquito's condition is being closely monitored, and there is an emphasis on providing the necessary support during this critical recovery phase. His ongoing health situation has drawn public attention and concern, given Marquito's popularity as a comedian on the television program "Programa do Ratinho." The incident highlights the risks associated with motorcycle riding and raises discussions regarding road safety precautions.
