To benefit from the discount, taxpayers need to make a single payment, either through the Municipal Finance Secretary's website or the Sefin Digital app, using the Municipal Collection Document (DAM). Although taxpayers also have the option to parcel payments over 11 months, choosing this method will result in the loss of the 6% discount.

Eligible taxpayers registered under the Nota Fortaleza Program can receive an additional 2% discount on top of the 6%, making the total possible discount reach 8% if paid in full by the deadline. It is important for participants to have registered for the program by November 30 to utilize this extra discount. For those opting for the installment plan, the minimum monthly payment is R$ 82.59, due on the fifth business day of each month, with payment options available through Pix or credit card.
