The Dovre Line has officially reopened for traffic between Hamar and Brumunddal after a rockslide on Wednesday evening disrupted service. According to Øystein Stavdal Paulsen, a press officer from Bane Nor, train services will resume with reduced speed in the affected area as personnel continue their work to ensure safety.

The section of the railway had been closed after a rock fell onto the tracks, subsequently being struck by a freight train. Thankfully, there were no injuries reported in the incident, as the freight train was able to continue operating without incident despite the collision. This situation highlights the ongoing challenges faced in maintaining railway safety in areas prone to natural events like landslides.

As train services gradually return to normal operations, commuters and freight transport will benefit from the reinstated link, emphasizing the importance of the Dovre Line in connecting key regions in Norway.
