SC doctor arrested for sexual crimes against youths aged 17 to 20 during consultations in the public network
A doctor in Santa Catarina, Brazil, has been arrested for allegedly committing sexual crimes during medical consultations with young patients.
A doctor based in Catanduvas, Santa Catarina, was arrested on September 3, following investigations into sexual crimes committed against at least ten young individuals aged between 17 and 20. The incidents reportedly occurred during clinical consultations in the public healthcare system between 2024 and 2025. The victims claimed that the physician, who is not a gynecologist, conducted unauthorized invasive examinations and made inappropriate sexual comments, leading the young women to believe these actions were part of legitimate medical procedures.
According to the allegations outlined by the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the doctor manipulated his victims into thinking that the invasive acts he performed were regular medical examinations, effectively simulating clinical procedures with the sole intent of engaging in sexual activities. This deceptive practice raises serious concerns about the safety of patients in public healthcare settings and highlights the need for stringent oversight and accountability for medical professionals.
In response to the charges, the doctor’s defense has firmly denied any wrongdoing, asserting that his conduct adhered strictly to established medical protocols and maintained an absolute respect for the patients. This case not only brings to light the troubling issue of sexual misconduct in the healthcare industry but also emphasizes the importance of protecting vulnerable patients, particularly young individuals in public health networks.
