Companies are engaging in 'economic terrorism' against the end of the 6x1 shift, says Boulos

Minister Guilherme Boulos criticized companies for their economic pressure tactics against the proposed end of the 6x1 work schedule, arguing these strategies impede labor advancements.

Guilherme Boulos, the Minister of the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic of Brazil, has accused companies of engaging in economic terrorism concerning the debates around ending the 6x1 work schedule. He pointed out that such tactics are prevalent during discussions about labor laws and are aimed at instilling fear among workers regarding potential changes that may improve their conditions. Boulos also voiced his disapproval of legal decisions affirming precarious job relationships, which he described as alarming and highlighted an instance where a construction worker was categorized as a legal entity (PJ), an absurdity he likened to classifying gig workers as 'collaborators' or 'entrepreneurs'.
