Finland's President Alexander Stubb spoke on the phone with Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed al-Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates regarding recent Iranian attacks and the safety of Finnish citizens in the UAE.
Finland's President Alexander Stubb had a phone conversation with Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed al-Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates, on Wednesday to discuss the impact of Iranian attacks in the region. Stubb expressed condolences for the victims of these attacks, emphasizing Finland's condemnation of Iran's actions as baseless and arbitrary. He stated that Finland stands in solidarity with its allies in the UAE and the broader region.
During their conversation, Stubb and the Sheikh also addressed the situation of Finnish nationals in the UAE, particularly in light of the ongoing conflicts that have seen reciprocal attacks between the United States, Israel, and Iran for five consecutive days. Many Finnish citizens were reportedly stranded in the UAE, specifically in Dubai, a popular travel destination, as civilian flights were suspended due to the escalated hostilities.
Additionally, the Finnish Ministry for Foreign Affairs, represented by Consular Chief Jussi Tanner, provided updates via social media on the predicament faced by Finnish citizens. The situation continues to develop as the various nations coordinate with one another to ensure the safety and security of individuals caught in the turbulence of the region.
