The Israeli army has entered the southern Lebanese city
The Israeli army has launched an incursion into the southern Lebanese city of Khiam as it steps up military actions against Hezbollah.
On Wednesday, the Israeli army entered the southern Lebanese city of Khiam, located about six kilometers from the Israeli border, as reported by Lebanese media. Israel has intensified its artillery shelling and airstrikes in southern Lebanon, responding to the ongoing military conflict with Hezbollah. Residents living south of the Litani River received warnings to evacuate immediately from the area due to the escalating violence.
An Israeli army spokesperson indicated that civilians residing south of the Litani River should move northward, emphasizing that the military is 'forced to take military actions' against the Hezbollah militant group in this region. The Israeli forces have issued evacuation warnings to nearly 30 towns and villages in southern Lebanon, indicating a significant military escalation in response to perceived threats in the area.
In a rapid series of attacks, approximately 30 strikes were reported in areas south of the Litani River within 15 minutes, according to a source from the Lebanese army to the DPA news agency. Such airstrikes typically increase in frequency ahead of a ground force invasion, suggesting that Israel's military operations may continue to escalate in the region as tensions with Hezbollah become increasingly volatile.
