Respected giant tester: The best cars are fully electric – combustion engine products have fallen off the wagon

The ADAC's latest test results reveal that fully electric vehicles outperform combustion engine cars, with nine out of the ten top spots going to electric models.

The German automobile club ADAC annually tests over one hundred new car models and publishes a summary of the results. This year's findings indicate a stark decline in the performance of combustion engine vehicles, with the ADAC declaring that the technology for fully electric cars has matured significantly. Consequently, it asserts that the best cars on the market today are unequivocally electric vehicles.

In total, the testing covered 112 vehicles, and remarkably, all nine of the top-ranked cars were fully electric. Notably, the ADAC identified several high-performing electric models, including the Audi A6 Avant e-tron performance, Audi Q6 e-tron performance, Mercedes-Benz EQS 450+ AMG Line, Skoda Elroq 85, and Skoda Enyaq 85x Sportline as the best performers in their assessments. This emphasis on electric vehicles illustrates a significant shift in the automotive landscape as manufacturers increasingly align with market trends and consumer preferences for sustainable options.

Following closely behind, albeit with a small margin in points, are additional electric models such as the BMW i4 xDrive40 M Sport, Cupra Tavascan Endurance, Mercedes-Benz CLA Coupé 250+ EQ Progressive, and Porsche Macan. The findings from ADAC reflect a broader narrative in the automotive industry: as electric vehicle technology continues to evolve and improve, the traditional combustion engine vehicles may struggle to remain competitive. This shift not only impacts car manufacturers but also has broader implications for environmental policy and consumer choices in the automotive sector.
