Criminals break pharmacy door with car and take weight loss medications in Campinas

A pharmacy in Campinas, Brazil, was robbed by a group of criminals who crashed a car into the building to steal weight loss products and high-value cosmetics early Wednesday morning.

In a brazen early morning robbery on Wednesday in Campinas, Brazil, criminals broke into a pharmacy by crashing a car into the store's iron gate. The incident occurred around 4 AM on Avenida das Amoreiras, where five suspects were involved in the theft, notably taking expensive weight loss pens and other dermatological products. Security footage from the pharmacy captured the car's arrival at approximately 3:54 AM, showing the driver reversing into the gate, which sustained damage during the attack.

Once inside the pharmacy, four of the suspects proceeded to raid the area where the weight loss pens, valued at about R$ 2,500 each, were stored in the refrigerator section. The audacious operation lasted only about two minutes, and after the theft, they made a hasty escape before the police could arrive at the scene. Thankfully, there were no injuries reported, and no hostages were taken during the incident, which raised concerns about safety and the effectiveness of security measures at local pharmacies.

As the investigation continues, the total value of the stolen goods is still being assessed. This incident underscores the ongoing issue of crime in urban areas of Brazil, particularly targeting businesses that stock popular and high-demand health products.
