Daniel Vorcaro's brother-in-law arrested by the Federal Police in a new phase of the operation concerning Banco Master
Fabiano Campos Zettel, the brother-in-law of Daniel Vorcaro, owner of Banco Master, has been arrested by the Federal Police in São Paulo during a new phase of Operation Compliance Zero.
Fabiano Campos Zettel, the brother-in-law of Daniel Vorcaro, was taken into custody by Brazil's Federal Police in São Paulo as part of the ongoing investigation into the Banco Master, which is linked to allegations of financial misconduct. He voluntarily surrendered at the Federal Police headquarters in São Paulo. His defense team stated that despite not having access to the details of the investigation, Zettel is fully cooperating with the authorities.
In addition to Zettel, Daniel Vorcaro himself was arrested during this third phase of Operation Compliance Zero, which aims to probe alleged criminal activities including threats, corruption, money laundering, and invasion of computer systems by an organized criminal group. The operation underscores the efforts of the Federal Police to tackle serious financial crimes in Brazil, specifically those that may involve high-profile banking figures.
The arrest warrants were issued by Minister André Mendonça of the Supreme Federal Court (STF), marking his first decisive action as the case's new rapporteur since taking office last month. The investigation is centered around a fraudulent financial scheme involving the sale of fake credit securities through Banco Master, making it a significant case in the ongoing battle against financial crime in Brazil, with potential implications for the Brazilian banking industry.
