Christian organizations support the expulsion of Palestinians from their lands

Christian groups have expressed their support for the expulsion of Palestinians, condemning attacks on Palestinian communities by Israeli settlers.

In late January 2023, Reverend Imad Haddad, bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land, made a statement condemning an attack by Israeli settlers on a Palestinian village near Ramallah. The settlers invaded and damaged lands belonging to local residents, and during the assaults, a woman and her family were attacked, resulting in serious injury and hospitalization. The Israeli security forces allowed the perpetrators to return home without facing consequences, highlighting a troubling context of impunity.

This incident is not an isolated event; it is part of a broader trend where Israeli settlers regularly attack Palestinian communities, both Christian and Muslim. In 2024 alone, there were 1,449 reported incidents of such attacks, and by 2025, international organizations recorded over 1,800 occurrences. These escalating incidents reflect a worrying increase in violence and displacement, raising significant concerns about the treatment of Palestinian communities in occupied territories.

Furthermore, there is a notable challenge for systematic criticism of these actions, as they are often labeled as antisemitism. Reverend Haddad's statement brings attention to this complex issue and underscores the vital need for international scrutiny and accountability for the settlers' actions and the broader implications for peace in the region. Christian organizations supporting the expulsion add another layer to the ongoing conflict, reflecting deep divisions and the challenging dynamics at play within the area.
