The driver who sprayed the fire did not give up: attacked the flames with snow

A driver in Klemiškės II village attempted to extinguish a vehicle fire using snow after initially using fire extinguishers.

On Tuesday evening, March 3rd, a vehicle fire occurred in the village of Klemiškės II, located approximately 3 kilometers southeast of the port city of Klaipėda. At around 19:47, firefighters were called to respond to the fire involving a 'Peugeot Boxer' van. Upon their arrival, they found the van emitting smoke as the owner had already begun efforts to extinguish the flames. He initially attempted to use two powder fire extinguishers before resorting to throwing snow at the fire once the extinguishers ran out.

The firefighters arrived shortly after, and the blaze was quickly brought under control, with the fire being extinguished by around 20:06. Significant damage was reported, including the melting of the van's front bumper, and damage to the headlights, flammable engine parts, passenger-side dashboard, and the interior being smoke-filled. Firefighters also disconnected the vehicle's battery as a precautionary measure to prevent further incidents.

This incident in Klemiškės II comes a day after another fire in the same village where a wooden shed burned down, highlighting ongoing fire safety concerns in the area.
