US and Israel Strike Iran's Constitutional Bodies... Iran Responds with Attacks on CIA Site and US Consulate

The US and Israel have intensified their military campaign against Iran, targeting key constitutional institutions, while Iran retaliates by attacking US and Israeli sites in the region.

On the third day of coordinated airstrikes by the US and Israel against Iran, the two nations targeted a key constitutional institution in Iran known as the Experts Assembly, which plays a crucial role in electing the country’s future leaders. The airstrike occurred in a southern region of Tehran, and fortunately, no casualties were reported as the building was vacant during the attack. Additionally, Israeli forces struck a secret underground facility believed to be involved in Iran’s nuclear weapon development, claiming to have eliminated a core element of Iran's nuclear capacity.

In retaliation, Iran targeted military facilities in Israel, including the Israeli Defense Ministry's headquarters, and launched an attack on the largest US military base in the Middle East, located in Qatar. Iran also escalated its aggression by attacking the US embassy in Riyadh and conducting drone strikes against the US consulate in Dubai. These actions confirmed that a CIA site was hit during the Riyadh embassy attack, heightening tensions in the already volatile region.

The situation surrounding the strategically important Strait of Hormuz is increasingly fraught, with US President Donald Trump suggesting military intervention to protect oil tankers should it be necessary. In response to the looming threat, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps declared the Strait of Hormuz to be under full Iranian control and reiterated the possibility of missile and drone strikes. As of now, US Central Command reported the destruction of 17 Iranian naval vessels and airstrikes on around 2,000 targets within Iran, signaling a significant escalation in military operations reminiscent of the 2003 invasion of Iraq.
