Estonians Trust Defense Minister Pevkur the Most Among Ministers

Estonian residents continue to have the highest trust in Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur compared to other government ministers, according to a recent survey.

A recent Emor poll has revealed that Estonians have the highest trust in their Defense Minister, Hanno Pevkur, among government officials. Prime Minister Kristen Michal ranks around the seventh to eighth position among the 13 ministers surveyed. Following Pevkur in the trust rankings are Finance Minister JΓΌrgen Ligi, Social Minister Karmen Joller, and Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna. This reflects an upward trend in Pevkur's reliability in the eyes of the public. Compared to a similar survey conducted last summer, the trust gap has widened significantly. Pevkur's popularity continues to soar, while trust in Ligi and Joller has decreased slightly since the June poll. Aivar Voog, the head of the Emor research team, noted these declining trust levels might be attributed to various factors affecting public perception, including recent government decisions. The survey also highlights a decline in trust towards Regional and Rural Affairs Minister Hendrik Johannes Terras, possibly linked to a controversial public transportation reform plan. Conversely, Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna and Infrastructure Minister Kuldar Leis have seen a slight increase in public confidence. This fluctuation in trust levels signifies changing public sentiments towards the government amid ongoing reforms and challenges in Estonia.
