The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is deploying a crisis team to Dubai to assist its citizens who are currently affected in the region.
The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced the deployment of a crisis response team to Dubai to reinforce the efforts of the embassy in Abu Dhabi to assist Norwegian citizens in the region. This decision comes in light of a significant crisis affecting Norwegians, with Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide expressing understanding for the challenging situation many are facing. The team is designed to provide critical support and aid to affected citizens, ensuring they receive the necessary assistance during this difficult time.
The crisis team will offer various forms of help, including the issuance of emergency passports, identification documents, and emergency loans to cover the costs of returning homeβreferred to as hardship loans. Furthermore, the team includes a doctor who will be available to provide medical assistance, including prescriptions and necessary medications. This comprehensive support is aimed at addressing the immediate needs of approximately 15,000 registered Norwegian citizens currently residing in Dubai.
