Release of Sanullim's 50th Anniversary Remake Album Volume 3 Featuring YB's 'Heukseok-dong' and 10 Tracks

The third volume of the remake project commemorating Sanullim's 50th anniversary will be released, featuring 10 tracks including YB's 'Heukseok-dong.'

On the 4th, the third regular album commemorating Sanullim's 50th anniversary was unveiled as part of a series of remake projects. This extensive project, initiated in September 2023, includes tracks 21 to 30 of their significant musical journey, marking a midpoint in a larger commemorative effort leading up to their 50th anniversary in 2027. The initiative is spearheaded by Kim Chang-hoon, Sanullim's bassist and singer-songwriter.

A defining feature of Volume 3 is its diverse range of musical genres, incorporating hard rock, mass rock, a cappella, modern folk, and trot crossover. Notably, YB's 'Heukseok-dong' stands out as a lengthy piece totaling 6 minutes and 53 seconds, characterized by deep riffs from a seven-string guitar and layered vocals from Yoon Do-hyun. Other contributions include Meitree's fresh a cappella rendition of 'Sanhalabeoji' and a modern folk interpretation of 'Choya' from Kim Chang-wan's first album released in 1983, generating a refreshing atmosphere. Daybreak reinterpreted 'Hoegwang,' a representative Sanullim ballad, with a sophisticated arrangement while maintaining the original's emotional core.

The project features an array of musicians like Broken Valentine, Transfiction, Kotoba, Awol, Seol, and Jeong Seo-joo, each adding their unique touch to the overall compilation. The 10 tracks interchangeably traverse the hot energy of rock, the lyrical essence of folk, the refreshing impact of a cappella, and the sentimentality of Korean ballads. Unlike recent trends in the music industry focused on commercial remakes, this project emphasizes the artistic value of Sanullim's original music, coupled with contemporary interpretations, highlighting the intent behind its production entrusted to Kim Chang-hoon, who oversees song selection and artist collaborations. The album will be made available on various music platforms on the afternoon of the 4th.
