Recently, NCP (SP) executive president Supriya Sule and senior leader Jayant Patil met with Uddhav Thackeray at Matoshree in an effort to break the deadlock. The discussion revolved around the only safe seat for the coalition, emphasizing the necessity of unity among the opposition to strengthen their presence in the Rajya Sabha.

During the meeting, both Sule and Patil reportedly proposed Sharad Pawar as the viable joint candidate after seeking support from Congress.
