Lula makes first visit of 2026 to Ceará in April to visit ITA campus and TikTok data center

Brazilian President Lula da Silva is set to visit Ceará on April 2, 2026, to inaugurate the new ITA campus and TikTok's data center, among other events.

The governor of Ceará, Elmano de Freitas (PT), announced that President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva will visit the state on April 2, 2026. This visit will mark Lula's first trip to Ceará in 2026, where he will inaugurate the new campus of the Aeronautics Institute of Technology (ITA) and check on the construction of a TikTok data center. Additionally, Lula is expected to participate in an event related to the 'Pé-de-Meia' program, which is led by the Minister of Education, Camilo Santana (PT).

Lula has been actively engaging with Ceará over the past few years, having already made three visits to the state in 2025 for events related to automotive investments, education, and healthcare. The upcoming visit will be significant as it will be Lula's 11th visit to Ceará since he assumed the presidency in January 2023, demonstrating his commitment to the region and its development initiatives.

This visit underscores the Brazilian government's focus on improving education and digital infrastructure in Ceará, particularly through the establishment of the ITA campus, which aims to enhance technical education, and the construction of a data center for TikTok, which could bring economic benefits and job opportunities to the area. The collaboration with local leaders and initiatives like the 'Pé-de-Meia' program further highlights the government's strategy to engage with regional stakeholders in fostering sustainable development.
