With 5.1 million tons, the fertilizer market in the country increased by 3% in 2025

Argentina's fertilizer market grew by 3% in 2025, reaching 5.1 million tons, according to Fertilizar Asociación Civil.

The fertilizer market in Argentina has experienced a significant growth of 3% in 2025, reaching a total of 5.1 million tons, as reported by the Fertilizar Asociación Civil. This growth confirms a positive trend that started in 2024, allowing the sector to recover from previous years' production adjustments and setbacks. The report suggests that this increase in volume is a result of favorable agricultural conditions and moisture replenishment in soil profiles.

María Fernanda González Sanjuan, the executive manager of Fertilizar Asociación Civil, noted that the beginning of the year was relatively weak, primarily due to a decrease in late corn area for the 2024/25 campaign. However, she emphasized that there has been a substantial recovery in consumption rates attributed to beneficial climatic conditions that supported agricultural production. These favorable conditions played a critical role in increasing fertilizer demand, which had previously been subdued.

Despite the overall growth, the report also highlighted a concern regarding the lower dosage levels per hectare for wheat, indicating that while the market has grown, there are still inefficiencies in how fertilizers are utilized in certain crops. This statistic raises questions about agricultural practices and the need for improved management to enhance both productivity and sustainability in Argentina's agricultural sector, ensuring that the benefits of the growing fertilizer market yield optimal results for farmers.
