Breaking | Qatari News Agency: Authorities have arrested two cells working for the Iranian Revolutionary Guard in Qatar
Qatari authorities have arrested two espionage cells working for the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, apprehending a total of 10 suspects.
Qatar's State Security Agency has announced the arrest of two espionage cells allegedly operating on behalf of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard within the country. According to the Qatari News Agency (QNA), these operations led to the detention of 10 individuals, of whom seven were tasked with espionage duties and three were involved in sabotage activities. The suspects reportedly received training on the use of drones, suggesting a level of sophistication in their operations.
The QNA further reported that security forces found possession of sensitive locations and coordinates related to critical facilities as well as communication tools and technical devices among the arrested cells. During investigations, the detainees acknowledged their ties to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and confirmed involvement in both espionage and sabotage assignments. This development signals heightened concerns about foreign interference and espionage within Qatar.
In a related security situation, the Qatari Ministry of Defense reported that the country faced an attack involving two ballistic missiles fired from Iran. Qatari air defense systems successfully intercepted one missile, while the second targeted Al Udeid Air Base but resulted in no human casualties. The recent arrests and missile attack further escalate the tension surrounding Qatar's national security and may lead to increased vigilance among citizens and residents, as authorities have urged the public to report any suspicious activities.
