According to Terje Øverdal, the chief firefighter at the Nordland emergency response center, two buildings are currently on fire, with a considerable risk of the fire spreading to a third building in the area. Firefighting teams are on site and are taking proactive measures to manage the situation.

Emergency services have been dispatched to the scene via both boat and vehicle from Svolvær, indicating the urgency of the response. The rescue vessel Inger Johanne has also arrived to assist with the firefighting efforts. Fortunately, the fire department reports that there are currently no known individuals in the vicinity of the fire, which is a relief as they continue to manage the blaze and prevent further damage.
