Iranian media denies the killing of Khamenei's son
Iranian news agency Mehr denies reports of the assassination of Mojtaba Khamenei, son of the late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, asserting he is in good health despite rumors.
On Tuesday, the Iranian news agency Mehr denied reports about the assassination of Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of the late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. The agency claimed it received 'reliable news' confirming that Mojtaba, who is 56 years old, is in good health, countering what they labeled as 'rumors from Zionist media.' This denial comes after allegations surfaced in the wake of the U.S.-Israeli attack on Iran last Saturday, which reportedly resulted in the death of his father, Ali Khamenei, along with other family members.
The articles that previously circulated indicated that Mojtaba Khamenei was killed during the same attack that claimed the life of his father. The Iranian media outlet reiterated that Mojtaba is currently engaged in managing family affairs, providing advice, and reviewing important national issues following the tragic incident. Iranian news also reported the death of Mansoureh Khajeshtah Baqerzadeh, the late leader's wife, who died from injuries sustained during the attack in Tehran.
Further reports echoed the deaths of other family members, including one of Khamenei's daughters, the wife of one of his sons, a son-in-law, and a granddaughter, all of whom were victims of the attack. Mansoureh Khajeshtah Baqerzadeh, who married Ali Khamenei in 1964, bore him six children. This denial serves to reassure the Iranian populace during a period of heightened tension following a major military assault on their leadership.
