Boca fans will have a single access point at the Lanús stadium and cannot enter with flags
Boca Juniors fans will face restricted access at Lanús stadium, with only one entrance and a ban on flags during an upcoming match.
Fans of Boca Juniors will be limited in their access to the Lanús stadium for the upcoming match on Wednesday, having only one designated entry point. They are required to enter through Remedios de Escalada, with specific instructions for those traveling by various means of transport. This setup aims to manage crowd control effectively. Additionally, those arriving by train must disembark at the Escalada station, while private vehicles face a detour. The visiting supporters will be accommodated in a dedicated section of the stadium, ensuring they do not intermingle with local fans.
The Club Atlético Lanús has organized this restricted access, facilitating 12,500 Boca Juniors fans, which is expected to generate significant revenue for the club. Reports suggest that the presence of these fans will contribute around 1.15 billion pesos to the local treasury. The only access point for Boca fans will be through gate 9, located next to a boundary that separates the local fan territory from that of Boca. It's crucial to note that even parking for Boca supporters will not be allowed in the area adjacent to local fans.
This decision aligns with recommendations from the Agency for the Prevention of Violence in Sports (APreViDe), which aims to maintain order during high-stakes matches between rival teams. The absence of flags is also a point of enforcement, intending to reduce any chances of confrontation during the game. The measures reflect ongoing efforts in Argentina to ensure safety and minimize incidents of violence in football stadiums during critical match days.
