Kenya: President Ruto Commends Sh80bn National-Nairobi County Pact to Transform City Infrastructure and Services

President Ruto has commended a recent Sh80 billion partnership aimed at improving Nairobi's infrastructure and services.

President William Ruto has announced a significant cooperation pact worth KSh80 billion between the National Government and Nairobi City County, designed to address pressing urban issues in the city, such as inadequate water supply, poor sewage systems, unreliable connectivity, and deteriorating road networks. This initiative represents a vital step toward urban regeneration as Ruto seeks to improve living standards for Nairobi's residents.

During his visit to Dagoretti South and Dagoretti North constituencies, President Ruto inspected ongoing construction projects, including the expansion of Dagoretti Sub-County Level IV Hospital into a 400-bed facility, which is set to provide much-needed healthcare services to the local population. The hospital, slated for completion by next month, aims to enhance quality and accessibility of medical care in the rapidly expanding urban center.

Additionally, Ruto underscored the importance of education in fostering community development during the inauguration of a new workshop block at PC Kinyanjui Technical Training Institute. This investment in education infrastructure symbolizes the government's commitment to improving vocational training opportunities, which are essential for equipping the youth with skills necessary for the labor market and contributing to the overall economic growth of Nairobi.
