Three separate bets from Currais Novos, Brazil, collectively won R$ 5.5 million in a recent Lotomania lottery draw.
In a recent Lotomania lottery draw in the Rio Grande do Norte state, three winning bets from Currais Novos together won over R$ 5.5 million, with a drawing result published on November 2. The local lottery store, Lotérica Potiguar, had two of the winning tickets that correctly guessed 20 numbers, each earning R$ 2,685,640.20. Additionally, there was another unique winner from the same location who, surprisingly, won R$ 160,085.19 for not guessing any numbers, marking a rare instance of such a win in Brazil.
The three winning bets were all made in a traditional physical format, which adds to the excitement surrounding this significant win for the local community. Karol Cunha, the owner of Lotérica Potiguar, expressed her joy, noting that the level of excitement in the town is unprecedented as such a large amount of lottery winnings is typically rare in the area. Moreover, this event has put Currais Novos on the map, aligning it with considerable national interest regarding lottery outcomes.
Across Brazil, only one other bet, placed in Brasília, successfully matched 20 numbers. Meanwhile, six additional tickets in various cities matched 19 numbers and will receive a smaller prize of R$ 53,361.73 each. This rarity highlights the luck surrounding the Currais Novos winners, and the town's celebration mirrors the thrill and hopes that come with participation in the lottery, fostering a sense of community and shared joy among its residents.
