The ongoing legal proceedings concerning terrorism accusations involving two men from Kankaanpää have garnered significant public attention, as the Vaasa Court of Appeal has now taken over the case. The Satakunta District Court previously dismissed the terrorism charges in December 2024, citing a lack of evidence supporting any preparations for violent acts. The court concluded that the activities of the suspects were not deemed capable of causing serious harm to Finland.

The main suspects had been accused of training for the purpose of committing terrorist crimes, with one suspect facing additional charges related to an explosive offense said to have been committed for terrorist purposes. However, the District Court found insufficient evidence to substantiate these claims, resulting in the dismissal of the charges.
