NATO: Mark Rutte sees "broad support" in Europe for attacks against Iran

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated that attacks by the United States and Israel against Iran are broadly supported in Europe, highlighting a collective stance on addressing Iranian military capabilities.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte emphasized that the military actions taken by the United States and Israel against Iran garner significant support within Europe. During a press briefing in Skopje, he noted that there is a clear consensus among many NATO allies regarding the necessity of neutralizing Iran's nuclear capabilities, ballistic missile potential, and the leadership of Ali Khamenei, suggesting an alignment in strategic interests among member states.

Rutte clarified that while NATO itself is not involved in the attacks, the sentiment expressed by member states indicates a general belief that the death of Khamenei strengthens their position regarding military engagement with Iran. He further elaborated that such actions are regarded favorably as they aim to mitigate threats posed by Iran’s advancements in nuclear and missile technologies, which are perceived as significant regional and global risks.

Moreover, NATO has announced adjustments to the deployment of its forces to ensure the security of its 32 member nations against potential threats, notably including ballistic missiles and UAVs from Iran. This move reflects a proactive approach to enhancing collective defense measures in response to rising regional tensions, reinforcing NATO's commitment to maintain stability and security in Europe and beyond.
