The Guardia Civil's Central Operational Unit for the Environment (UCOMA) has initiated an investigation into alleged corruption within the company Forestalia, known for its investment in renewable energy projects. Six arrests were made during this operation, which is examining potential irregularities in the procurement of contracts related to wind and solar projects. As part of the investigation, the authorities are conducting searches at Forestalia's headquarters in both Madrid and Zaragoza, as well as several homes of high-ranking company officials.

Allegations against Forestalia include a purported bribery scheme amounting to 4 million euros involving a former councilor of the PAR, who served in the Aragonese socialist government. This has caused significant controversy and raised questions about transparency and accountability in the renewable energy sector, a crucial area of investment in Spain amid its energy transition strategy.
