The Supreme Court of Norway has dismissed an appeal by a Latvian man sentenced to over 11 years in prison for extensive drug trafficking involving the smuggling of significant quantities of hashish into Scandinavia.
In a recent ruling, the Supreme Court of Norway upheld a lower court's decision against a Latvian man sentenced to over 11 years in prison for smuggling drugs, specifically 709 kilograms of hashish, from Germany to Scandinavia. The majority of the drugs, over 400 kilograms, were seized in Sweden, although authorities did not discover nearly 300 kilograms hidden in a diesel tank. Following his arrest in Vestby while delivering the drugs, the man appealed his initial eight-year sentence for the smuggling.
