The dollar is at its highest since November. Will the RPP refrain from a cut?
The dollar has strengthened significantly against the Polish złoty and other emerging market currencies, prompting speculation about potential monetary policy decisions by the Polish National Bank.
On Tuesday morning, the value of the dollar rose to 3.68 PLN, up from 3.57 PLN at the market close on Friday, marking its highest value in several months. This uptick in the dollar's strength is part of a broader trend where the American currency gains against emerging market currencies, including the Hungarian forint, Chilean peso, and Egyptian pound. Meanwhile, the EUR/USD exchange rate has dropped by 0.7% to 1.16 dollars per euro, the lowest level for this currency pair since mid-January. Additionally, the shift towards cash in the form of dollars is evident in the cryptocurrency market, where Bitcoin has fallen 4.12% and is now priced at $66,600.
