Automotoretrò, the myths of engines tell their stories
Automotoretrò and Mercanteinfiera are major events in Parma celebrating automotive history and modern antiques, respectively.
Drawing enthusiasts from across Italy, Automotoretrò takes place from March 7-8, showcasing classic cars, motorsport memorabilia, and key figures in the automotive industry. Complementing this event, Mercanteinfiera runs from March 7-15 and features over a thousand exhibitors presenting their works in vintage items, antiques, and collectibles. Together, these events highlight a shared passion for both historic and modern forms of craftsmanship and artistry.
Antonio Cellie, the CEO of the Fiera di Parma, emphasized that Automotoretrò is a significant gathering for historic motorsport, representing a sector worth over 100 billion euros in Italy, which supports a wide range of businesses including artisans, restorers, collectors, and museums. The events not only serve as a marketplace for buying and selling but also as a cultural hub that connects buyers, sellers, and industry trends.
Located in Emilia-Romagna, a region known as the Motor Valley, Parma's hosting of these two prominent exhibitions underscores its importance in the automotive heritage of Italy. This connection to the Motor Valley adds an extra layer of context, making these events not just local exhibitions but integral parts of Italy's automotive narrative, celebrating both historical achievements and contemporary culture.
