Legendary group prevented from leaving Dubai after Middle East conflict recalls the day of the attack: 'We came down the mountain and the war broke out'

A group of Amazonians from the movement Legendários is stranded in Dubai following flight cancellations due to the escalating conflict in the Middle East.

Leno Gomes, a lawyer and leader in the Legendários movement, took to social media to share his experience of being unable to leave Dubai after an expedition event due to renewed hostilities in the region involving the United States, Israel, and Iran. The group, composed of approximately 30 members from the Amazonas region of Brazil, was in Dubai for the "Top Dubai" desert expedition from February 25 to 28. They had planned to return on March 1, but found themselves stuck when airport operations were suspended following a drone attack that involved debris hitting the Dubai airport.

The airport incident occurred shortly after the Legendários group completed their activities. Leno recounted how they were enjoying their expedition in the desert when the situation rapidly changed, leading to cancellations of all flights as safety measures were activated. The drone involved was intercepted, highlighting the ongoing tensions and instability in the region, which ultimately has direct implications for international travel and safety for tourists.

This situation underscores the fragility of travel plans in a volatile geopolitical climate and the vulnerability of individuals caught in such circumstances. The experience of the Legendários members serves as a reminder of how global conflicts can intersect with local activities, placing travelers in precarious situations, while also raising questions about the safety protocols in place for international events during such conflicts.
