Latvian Music Chart Sees Particularly Good Performance from Two Songs
The latest Latvian music chart highlights strong performances by two local songs alongside popular international hits.
Latvijas Izpildītāju un producentu apvienība (LaIPA) has collaborated with TVNET to present the current top music singles in Latvia, featuring the most popular songs on radio stations and streaming platforms. In the charts for the ninth week, local artists Atvara and Don have notably made their mark alongside international hits. Bruno Mars’ song 'I Just Might' continues to hold the top position on the radio chart for the seventh consecutive week, with Harry Styles' 'Aperture' following in second place, and the third spot occupied by the single 'I Run' from the band Haven and artist Kaitlin Aragon.
The chart also reflects a growing appreciation for local music, with two Latvian singles making it to the Top 20. Don's song 'Tuvums' ranks at 12th position while Atvara's Eurovision entry 'Ēnā' holds the 13th place. Another homegrown tune, 'Deficīts' by the group Laika suns, is also gaining traction at the 16th position, indicating a positive trend for local artists amidst the competition from global stars.
On the streaming chart, Don’s 'Tuvums' has made a strong comeback to the top position, with Gacho’s song 'Vējiem līdzi' in second and Dominika Fika’s 'Babydoll' in third. This dynamic shift in both charts signifies the evolving landscape of Latvian music consumption, showcasing the blend of local talent with international influences.
