The municipality of Šiauliai has awarded a four-year contract to Ecoservice for the management of waste collection following a public procurement process. This contract outlines various responsibilities such as organizing waste collection, container maintenance, and ensuring collaboration with residents and city institutions. Payments for these services will be based on actual work performed, according to monthly reports, enabling a structured approach to waste management in the city.

Mantas Tamošiūnas, the service manager at ŠRATC, emphasized that this contract structure allows for consistent planning and a smooth provision of services. He noted the goal is to make waste collection an aspect of daily life that residents do not have to think about, highlighting that effective service delivery is the priority. This new agreement ensures that waste collection services will run efficiently over the long term.

In addition, Daiva Skrupskelienė, the Waste Collection Business Director at Ecoservice, stated that the company will focus not only on regular waste collection but also on the maintenance of containers and the organization of waste collection points. The commitment includes fostering good communication with the municipality and residents, which aims to enhance the overall efficacy of the waste management system in Šiauliai, ensuring cleanliness and order in the city.
