Taraba APC endorses governor, Tinubu for second term
The Taraba State chapter of the APC has officially endorsed Governor Agbu Kefas and President Bola Tinubu for their respective second terms in the upcoming elections.
The Taraba State Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has formally endorsed Agbu Kefas for a second term as governor in the 2027 governorship election. The committee's decision reflects their support for both state and federal leadership as they also backed President Bola Tinubu for re-election. This endorsement was announced by the APC chairman in Taraba, Alhaji Ibrahim El-Sudi, who cited the exemplary governance provided by both leaders during their tenures.
During a press conference in Jalingo, El-Sudi emphasized the importance of stability and effective governance, noting the smooth transition of political power within the state, which has been characterized by cooperation rather than conflict. He highlighted Governor Kefas's engagement with the APC since joining the party and his dedication to fostering unity within its ranks. The endorsement demonstrates the party's confidence in both leaders to continue delivering impactful governance and further solidify the party's standing in the state.
This political backing from the APCβs state committee signifies a strategic move as the party prepares for future electoral contests. By publicly supporting both the governor and the president, the APC aims to consolidate its influence in Taraba, a key state in Nigeria's political landscape, especially as it gears up for national elections. Their endorsement may not only shape the party's internal dynamics but also influence voter sentiment and political alliances leading up to the elections.
