Luxury boat manufacturer Saxdor Yachts sold to the United States for an astonishing amount
Saxdor Yachts, a luxury boat manufacturer, has been sold to Malibu Boats Inc. for approximately 150 million euros, with potential additional payments based on growth targets.
Saxdor Yachts, a Finnish company specializing in luxury boat manufacturing, has been sold to the U.S.-based Malibu Boats Inc. for a reported price of about 150 million euros. This sale not only marks a significant financial milestone for the company but also indicates the growing international interest in premium Finnish marine craftsmanship. Furthermore, Saxdor's shareholders stand to gain up to an additional 72 million euros if certain growth targets, which are set to be achieved by the year 2028, are met.
The CEO of Saxdor Yachts, Erna Rusi, expressed satisfaction with the sale, underlining that this achievement would not have been possible without the dedication of their committed workforce. The company, headquartered in Luoto, Finland, produces boats there and has additional manufacturing facilities in Poland. With substantial market presence in Southern Europe, the USA, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand, the company's expansion plans include the opening of new 4,000 square meter production facilities to complement their existing operations, scheduled for the autumn of 2025.
Rusi assured that the acquisition by Malibu Boats would not disrupt Saxdorโs operational capabilities. Instead, it is seen as an opportunity for further growth and innovation in their product offerings. The increasing globalization of the boating industry, alongside strategic partnerships such as this one, emphasizes the competitive landscape and Saxdor's commitment to maintaining and enhancing quality as they scale their production to meet rising demand across various international markets.
