Raseiniai District – a gruesome discovery: nurses called to assist a woman could no longer help
Emergency services found a deceased woman in Raseiniai district after a nurse reported being unable to enter her home.
On November 11 at 11:52 a.m., a nurse reported that she was unable to enter a house in the town of Girkalnis, Raseiniai district, where a woman was reportedly inside. The fire department responded to the scene, opened the door, and allowed medical personnel and police to enter. Inside, they discovered the woman had no signs of life, indicating a possible tragic situation.
Later that day, at 4:34 p.m., another report was received from Kaunas regarding a man who could not be contacted and whose health might have deteriorated. Firefighters accessed the apartment through the balcony using a ladder, which enabled paramedics and police to enter. Unfortunately, they found the man also showing no signs of life, pointing towards a troubling pattern of health emergencies occurring in the region.
These incidents highlight the critical need for timely medical interventions and the potential dangers of isolation, especially for vulnerable individuals. The local authorities and community may need to reconsider resources available for health checks on individuals living alone, particularly as such situations can escalate rapidly without immediate assistance.
