In the early hours of the morning, a fire completely destroyed a bicycle shop located in Lauttasaari, Helsinki. According to the Helsinki Fire Department, the apartments above the shop also suffered damage due to the fire. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries, as the residents of the affected apartments had evacuated safely, as confirmed by fire chief Petri Korhonen.

The fire reportedly spread partially to the upper apartments, and when emergency services arrived on the scene, the blaze was already in full swing. A total of 13 firefighting units were deployed to control the situation, indicating the seriousness of the fire. The emergency call was received shortly after 1 a.m., prompting a rapid response from fire crews.

Additionally, Helsinki police have taken one person into custody in connection with the incident, although they have not yet disclosed details regarding the investigation's progress.
