Seventy firefighters from various brigades responded to a large fire that broke out at a derelict sports centre on Imperial Way in Croydon, South London. The London Fire Brigade received multiple emergency calls alerting them to the fire shortly before 4:30 PM on Monday, March 2. Fire crews were dispatched from Croydon, Purley, Wallington, Norbury, Mitcham, and nearby stations to combat the blaze, which engulfed most of the two-story building.
