Labor complaints in Sergipe increase by 22% in 2025, says MPT-SE

The Regional Labor Public Ministry of Sergipe (MPT-SE) announced a notable 22% rise in labor complaints within the state for the year 2025, with a total of 4,129 cases reported, up from 3,377 in 2024. This surge highlights ongoing issues in the labor environment that have prompted workers to speak out more actively against violations of their rights. Among the various themes investigated by the MPT-SE, the work environment emerged as the most significant area of concern, accounting for 40.75% of all investigations. This includes serious issues such as workplace accidents, as well as overall health, safety, and hygiene conditions that are often compromised in various sectors. These findings amplify the need for improved workplace conditions and proactive measures from employers. The MPT-SE also identified pressing issues related to public administration work, which constituted 22.46% of the total investigations. Additionally, the lack of job opportunities, and issues of violence, harassment, and discrimination in labor relations were documented, making up 21.59% of the investigations. The rise in complaints signals an urgent call for systemic changes to enhance labor rights and protections in Sergipe, fostering a safer and more equitable working environment for all.
