Man arrested with over 3.5 kg of cocaine in Volta Redonda

A 29-year-old man was arrested with more than 3.5 kg of cocaine and other drugs in Volta Redonda, Brazil, during a police operation targeting drug trafficking.

On Monday, a 29-year-old man was arrested in the Colorado neighborhood of Volta Redonda, Brazil, after police uncovered over 3.5 kg of cocaine during an operation. The arrest was part of a targeted mission following intelligence suggesting drug sales were occurring at the suspect's location. Officers observed the suspect attempting to hide a black bag, containing a blender, in a wooded area near a railway, which prompted further investigation.

The police's search yielded not only the significant amount of cocaine but also additional drugs, including 18 bags of marijuana, 80 vials of cocaine, and nine rocks of crack cocaine. Additionally, they recovered a small amount of cash. An attempt to arrest another individual who fled the scene was unsuccessful, and during the search of the suspect's home, carbon-copy bags and multiple blenders were also discovered, indicating potential involvement in drug packaging and distribution.

The quantity of drugs seized during this operation emphasizes the ongoing issue of drug trafficking in Brazil, particularly in urban areas like Volta Redonda. Local law enforcement's proactive approach aims to disrupt illegal activities and address public safety concerns amid the increased prevalence of drug-related violence in the region.
